AWANA AVENUE

AWANA meets Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm during the school year.  Clubs start at age 4 and go through 5th grades. It's open to everyone!  AWANA combines a fun, teamwork approach to Scripture memory, missions, and Bible.  Kids work on a team through the entire year and earn points individually and as a team.  Fun team games, the AWANA Olympics, the AWANA Grand Prix pinewood racers, and rain gutter Regatta are all special events that add even more fun and family participation.

Awana is broken down into three areas:

It's all about the Fun!
Awana is fun! That’s why kids keep coming back! Game time is a blast. The games are always exciting and new. Some of them are down right crazy! There are also, prizes, jumpers, boat races, giant slides, car races, pizza, candy, and so much more! Awana club meetings are broken up into three rotations, Game Time, Council Time and Handbook Time.

It's all about Jesus!
Awana teaches kids that God is real, that he loves them and that he has proven his love through Jesus! Kids also learn how God can help them in their every day life. During Handbook Time, kids work their way through a handbook at an individual pace. They learn Bible verses and how the Bible applies to our lives. Council Time is a large group “hands on” lesson, music and recognition time.

It's all about the team!
Each child is placed on a team that competes to earn points through games, attendance, bringing friends, team spirit and participation. During Council Time points are added up, announced and celebrated. Each week the team points start over. The teams support each other, work to help each other and encourage each other to do their best.

 Awana Parent Page

Howdy Parents,
Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to help your child grow in Christ.  This year will be run differently than last year so please take note of some very important changes.

#1 We Need Volunteers!
In order for Awana to run smoothly, and give your child the attention he/she needs and required bu Awana, we need more leaders.  Other wise we run the risk of being a glorified babysitting program.

#2 We must have your cooperation at home!
In handbook time, our leaders are designed to listen to verse the child has already practiced at home.  We also try to help the child to understand the meaning of the verse but we have limited time and lots of children to work with, please help them at home to memorize the verses.

#3 We have a new security check-in/out system!
Please arrive by 6:35 to check in your child using the new computer system. So the program can begin promptly at 6:45. Children will not be released without a parent to pick them up, sorry no sibling pick-up and no having the child wait in the lobby or meet in parking lot.  Thank you for helping us keep your child safe!  If you arrive early then 6:35 with your child due to an adult class starting before hand, please check them in down in the preschool area in which we will have childcare avaible until the start of Awana.  No children, birth - 5th grade are to be wondering around the halls!

#4 We have a totally new nightly schedule that divides TNT and Sparkies all night with the exception of circle time at the beginning.  Sparks will be picked up upstairs in room 203 and TNT will be picked up upstairs in room 206.  Come and watch them get their awards!
Any Questions?  Feel free to call Wanada at 755-4454 or Mr. Mike at 753-8588.
